Team Approach. This paper discusses the team approach to outpatient geriatric evaluation and care. Critique of article titled "How Does the Team Approach to Outpatient Geriatric Evaluation Compare with Traditional Care: A Report of a Randomized Controlled Trial" by Williams et al. This critique uses an outline of criteria as summarized in Nursing Research: Theory and Practice, edited by Woods and Catanzaro in 1988. A review of literature has been added to these criteria. This research report describes a randomized controlled trial evaluating team approach vs. traditional care in the aging population. Based on several hypotheses, functional status, home environment maintenance, institutionalization, satisfaction, and health care costs are specifically analyzed to determine the effectiveness of a team approach.
