Feedback And Reinforcement. This paper discussed feedback and reinforcement. Theorist Skinner suggested that feedback was widely misused as reinforcement. However, Skinner also suggested reinforcement as control over changes in the environment and made it sound very much like a feedback variable. But, the two constructs -- feedback and reinforcement - are two entirely different theories and labels for behavioral processes and should never be used as synonyms. This was the point of contention in Skinner's argument. An argument, I have to agree with. Although, these processes may be somewhat similar, they are not the same thing. Today's investigation allow us to describe certain aspects of feedback and reinforcing processes as similar, as they both contain informational qualities.
